The lengths educators go to combat semester fatigue and end the semester strong. Keeping things fresh and fun for the last quiz...jeopardy is the answer. #onemoreweek #games #academia #callmeprofessor #craftyanj #alextrebek #jeopardy

What a week...
I love being busy, it keeps me sane. It levels my high, high energy!
This week has tested new boundaries and it isn't over!
At the beginning of this year, I wrote the things I wanted to have by the end of 2011!
It was only two:
1. To go back to the classroom as an Adjunct Professor in the Communications/ Humanities Dept. at the college I work
2. Expand my new found abilities to connect people online (via a blog for my alma mater or school).
Well, the universe was listening.
Between June and now this has happened:
I applied for a Community 2.0 Grant and for an Adjunct Position in the Humanities Department. I got both!
I offered to manage the social media platforms for my current job, I was forced asked to revamp and re-direct the curriculum for our Leadership Seminar and was giving complete tutelage of the Summer Institute for Cohort 5 (Fall 2011 new/first year students) of our program.
My amazing friend Sylvia offered me to be her Publicist with all education endeavors, along with co-managing three social media platforms for the PALANA Blog for Middlebury College.
I'm ecstatic, nervous and feel like I'm in a movie. The growing responsibilities I have now are beyond me. I thought attending graduate school while working full time two three years ago was insane. Ah, this is testing new boundaries and I'm riding on good luck, my OCD tendencies, my high energy. All while trying to maintain a social life and caring for two adorable doxies, find time to have QT with the hubby, cook, go to the gym, hang out with my niece and Godson, attend fundraising events, spend time with my dear friends and call my Momma everyday!
I'm not complaining. It's the story of my life--I always get what I want and then some! I'm ready, I'm eager and I feel I need to get this out and about of my system. Do this fun stuff now or EVER!!
The next move will probably involved keeping my current load, a new position here or elsewhere where I expand my leadership and motivational skills as an educator with the impeding thoughts of starting a family sometime around the time I turn 34 or 35.
Can you tell I'm OCD! Must plan everything, but hear me out! I over plan so that I can spontaneously have fun!
I have fun and I get all done without looking frazzled in some hot high heels! I begin teaching tomorrow night and I can't wait to meet all my 25 registered students! CANNOT WAIT!
This was a happy rant, by the way!
Mrs. D.!!!
p.s. loving life for sure!
