How to deal with miss-gendering, especially if you recently came out:

Random Person: Excuse me (wrong pronoun)?

You: Actually, it's (correct pronouns). (please do this in a nice, calm voice, please do not yell or glare at the person)

Random person: Oh okay! Thank you for correcting and telling me!

I know that this isn't always how it turns out, but I wish this happened more often than not because I see too many people getting angry over people miss-gendering them when they just came out to the world for like, a week. Remember, things like this take time to change, it is not an overnight thing, you have to wait and be patient, there's a lot of work that goes into it and it could take years. I know that the "random person" won't always be the nicest, but that doesn't mean you have to be the first one to be cruddy, because their response will be greatly affected from how you reacted to their mistake. So just, chill and drink a glass of water. And besides, when that "random person" instantly calls you by your correct pronouns, it feels amazing. So please, be nice to those who assume gender by their first look at you because they don't know better, and politely tell them your correct pronouns. There's too much hate and anger in the world already, take a chance and be nice, the world could use a lot of that.

I've been saying this all night but just so we're clear: that article is definitely NOT saying that Tessa and Scott are competing in the 2015 portion of this season or at any other time. The article is saying that Tessa and Scott are on the team (which we already knew) and that this current team will last until April 30, 2015. Meaning Scott and Tessa will headline the Skate Canada team until April of next year. BUT this does not mean they're competing. Clear?

I just don't want anyone to get their hopes up and expect to see them competing at Nats in January and then being disappointed if they don't compete or officially announce they're retiring. 

I want them to compete as much as the next fan, but let's not get worked up about these articles, because no one has said they're competing in the 2015 portion. They may very well do, but we have no confirmation on that either way.

Okay, end rant. Everyone please continue spreading the T&S love! 

P.S. this is not meant to call out anyone, really. Just wanted to clear the air here b/c all I see on my dash is excitement that they're competing again.

Can we all just agree that we're gonna be on an emotional roller coaster for the foreseeable future??? If you want off, by all means. But when a low comes, we all can't be Pocahontas cliffing or we'll lose our sanity.
