How do you feel about Calsher?

Ohmygod. Okay, so Calsher is easily the most complicated and interesting pairing I have. It isn’t developed enough to understand it fully and I don’t know if it will ever get to be a point where both party’s feelings are understood, both by themselves and others.

Obviously, it’s an awful relationship. Asher beats her and sadly she’s far more concerned about their affair being discovered than her own well being.

Asher is essentially training her to be his pet, literally. He’s controlling her with threats of leaving her and of physically hurting her, which he really seems to enjoy. However, I think it was established with Asher-Mun that they can still have a relationship here he takes care of her romantically and they can still cuddle and kiss and be fluffy together, whether that’s because Asher enjoys being cuddly or because it’s simply the required aftercare/balance between punishment and reward is up for debate and also for Asher’s Mun to decide. (Note that, while using terms like punishment, pet, and aftercare, I’m not considering Calsher a BDSM relationship because it’s mostly for Asher’s benefit and because he doesn’t respect or acknowledge her boundaries or that she even has boundaries.)

I’m in love with this pairing to play because it’s so interesting and undecided. Does Asher really love Cal? We’d like to think that he can but it is unknown. Does Cal love Asher? Or is it her wolf that’s attracted to him? Will they acknowledge that they don’t love each other or will Asher lie? Asher tells her specifically that at this time he loves her for the sex, but if Cal falls in love with him I personally see him lying to her. Is Asher completely evil or will Cal teach him some humanity? Is Asher going to make Cal’s wolf take her over and make her completely evil?

This pairing is so much more than meeting, falling in love, and having sex and babies and getting married like some other pairings (not that those aren’t great). It’s about more than a couple in a relationship, it’s about the ability for good to become evil and for evil to become good, it’s about whether or not a murderer can learn to love. It’s not a happily ever after ending, Asher is going to fuel her dark side until it consumes her and she becomes solely under his control or he’s going to die trying, or possibly killing Cal in the process. I wish Jess wasn’t going through such a rough time so we could see where this story goes, but alas.

Us Muns have no idea where this is headed. The muses really have a mind of their own.

What do other people think? I’m interested. I love playing this pairing and this story and I love the relationship for its depth and complication.

HC: I Hate Myself

Cal really hates herself sometimes and has bouts of insecurity that last anywhere from a day to several weeks. She hates that she hurts people, she hates that she messes up so much and that she can't seem to figure everything out and get all of her shit together. She thinks her mom wouldn't be proud of her and wishes she were just a better or entirely different person.

She doesn't think she deserves someone like Ziggy (or Shane?) because she doesn't think anyone sweet and kind and almost perfect should be forced to deal with someone like her. This is also why she finds herself in relationships like Cal and Luther in verse 2 (where they physically and verbally abuse each other) and Calsher in the Unfaithful AU (This very much applies to this verse because Asher treats her very poorly) because she feels like she doesn't deserve to be treated "right".
