"Esme, mon amie, how have you been doing?" -C.M
Better and better, my darling boy. I bore witness to what Mr Visconti believes to be fashionable today, and my entertainment level has absolutely skyrocketed.
How about yourself? Surely you’ve seen something entertaining today?
[ It’s an unspoken rule that you don’t look inside of Calto’s notebook. ]

{ DBD OC #2: CALTO MONET, THE ARTIST }
{ LORE: Calto Monet was the son of an esteemed art critic. He would always follow his dad around to exhibits and gallery parties, and with him came a children's sketchbook he practiced in. He dabbled in everything: sketching, sculpting, abstract pieces from junk, the whole nine yards. But his true passion was painting. He practiced day and night over the years, but no matter what...he could never get his father to approve of his work. He spent many restless nights trying to get his approval on even the smallest of pieces. To no avail.
Years later, a 25 year old Calto had skilled himself even further in his artwork adventures, though misfortune came his way repeatedly. Even so he persevered, and entered his masterpiece into a gallery for an upcoming art show. Anyone could enter as long as they had some experience to show, and he did. This, he knew with all his might, would get his father's approval.
On the night of the show, Calto dressed his finest, extremely excited for the unveiling of his master creation; A large painting that he would cut open using his precision knives to reveal a bigger, better painting behind it. The moment that white cloth came off of the piece, talk began. It started as simple criticisms of the piece. And, as most things, it devolved into mockery. As high class as the attendees were, they all found his work peculiar, and not in an avant garde way. They began to point in a garrish fashion, taunting the "madman" artist and his "mistake of a piece", along with he himself being claimed a mistake.
This was the moment Calto Monet snapped.
His precision knives were used in other ways that evening, and as the hush fell across the now slick floors, he cut open his piece and proudly made his exit, walking into a thick, black fog. }
💎☁️for Calto and 🌙🔥 for Rue+Ryder [I love your art! I hope you can have some fun with this ask @dbd-the-cultists]
[ sorry this took so long! And thank you very much! ]
💎 Does your OC collect anything? Is there a reason? When did they start and is it beginning to turn into a little bit of a hoarding issue? What do they do with their collection?
Calto uses the cover-up of a "collection" to hide that he hoards stationery. He adores little stamps and colored pens and anything that will look pretty on paper. He prides himself in his sense of decor, afterall. Normally he just uses his collection to keep his sketchbooks and journals nice and neat, but he often succumbs to using it to decorate things for other killers.
☁️ What’s something your OC wishes they could forget? Why is this? Or, what is something that your OC has forgotten? (or do both!)
The night that he murdered everyone in the gallery is one that he wishes he could remove from his memory permanently. It was an act of pure rage and years of anger and frustration that he wishes would just go away. Oddly enough, he only really is upset about killing his father within the gallery. He appears to be numb to everyone else he killed, even (×××××××××××).
🌙 If your OC could have one wish come true what would it be and why? Would there be consequences to this wish or would they regret it once they get what they want? What would they give in return for this wish to come true?
Rue wants to be an actual superhero. Specifically, she wishes she had super strength and the ability to be extremely agile. She had already tried to hone these skills while she was on the streets, but it was usually to no avail. She never considered the consequences of course- she never took into account that vigilantes on the streets beating up random "crooks" without provocation is illegal.
Ryder wants his own body. Simple as that. Of course, to Rue, he has a physical form and she can see him at any time...almost like an imaginary friend. But Ryder has stuck with Rue for so long he misses his body independence. The only drawback if he gained his wish, well, then The Entity would no longer have a use for Rue, and...
🔥 If your OC known for having temper tantrums? If not, what gets them really angry? What makes their blood BOIL? Is there anyway to calm them down or are they unstoppable? What are they like when they’re angry? Do they take it out on their loved ones?
Rue is normally emotionless, so she doesn't usually lose her temper, and most others believe she can't emote at all. However, she can be glaringly intimidating when she's angry. While she keeps her indifferent expression, her eyes scream a whole other way, and you can feel the bloodlust radiate off of her. The easiest way to get her absolutely furious? Her obsession. Her obsession is the reason she still clings onto her humanity. Killers, even other survivors, who start to attack and torture him in a very intentful way are in for a rude awakening. She understands having to kill him- the situation they're in calls for it- but if anyone were to do it for enjoyment, even to get at her, well...she would be right by him with a pipe in her hands.
Ryder is such a nonchalant guy, trying to get him mad on purpose won't work. But he gets really pissy when Rue gets attacked. Hell, anything that hurts Rue hurts him, and it makes him mad. Plus, he isn't too fond of The Entity, for reasons unknown, but it almost seems like a vendetta of sorts. When Ryder is in a blind rage though, no matter what caused it, everybody gets hurt. He destroys everything in a blaze of fury, and if he's in a trial, well...let's just say the survivors may be scarred from what he does to them. Luckily it hasn't happened...yet.
