This wasn’t even my first time interacting with a celeb BUT I WAS STILL NERVOUS BEFOREHAND LMFAO I had to do like two laps around BEFORE but then he was trying to pass by my BFF and I’m just like standing there like an idiot in awe and he turns back around and asks if we were Expanse fans and I’m like, “YESS!!! ME!!!” and he’s like, “well come on in, let’s talk!” but then he saw some cosplayers and complimented them on their costumes and I’m still waiting like an idiot in awe lmfao. BUT he’s super friendly and I was in SUPER FAN MODE and just gushed a lot about everything lmfao about the show, about Alex and his SAD BACKSTORY.
I got an autograph and seflie cuz I’m a weak bitch and IT’S SO CUTE Cas had like a list of like, phrases you could choose (both from AC and The Expanse) and I picked “Veeeoola Lasagna” cuz I thought that was funny. He said he might go to Dragon Con and is trying to get Wes and Dom to go AND A BITCH IS WEAK AND TEMPTED but looooord *thinks about the money spent the last time I went there* He also sneaked in the joke about Steven having carrier pigeons lmfasokaoks
He also had a panel that day and talked about how he got the part of Alex and how he took a gamble because he did a self-tape (cuz he prefers those over actual live auditions) and got a callback BUT DIDN’T WANT TO DO IT so he told his agent to tell them he wasn’t in town lmfao. Didn’t hear from them for 2 weeks and WAS SCARED HE DIDN’T GET THE PART but then he got the call saying he did (yay!) and lmao TURNS OUT THE CASTING PEOPLE (or the writers? I forget lmao) THOUGHT THEY LOST HIM. So that was cute. He also talked a lot about diversity in media and his own unique experiences as an actor of color. If y’all ever get the chance to meet him, GO. Cuz he’s awesome and beautiful and always dresses so nice for these things????
BUT YES. I MISSED YOU TOO and our small little Expanse fam here I’ll make it up in Nolden gifsets and Alex ones for Alex Kamal appreciation week HOPEFULLY I truly miss our space babies and them filming Season 3 soon makes my heart so happy.

omg the dick and bruce characterization in your fics is so sweet and their care for each other really comes through even in the mundane interactions, it is exactly how i imagine their dynamic especially in the earlier years of the dynamic duo
awww thank you! since i don’t write as much for fandom nowadays, sometimes i forget how much my characterization of them is imbedded into my brain. i’ll go read some canon stuff and immediately be like, “that’s wrong lmao” because i’ve just completely jumped shipped from some of the source material. i like to explore a very particular part of their dynamic. a lot of it is self-indulgent, but i like writing it and people like reading it, so why not?
