Doe a dear, a female deer Have you seen a real, live deer? The last time I’ve seen one was when I still very small. That was at the Deer Farm at the Capitol Grounds of the Provincial Capitol of Camarines Sur. Just recently, I saw these dear deer once again. Ray, a cup of golden sun That same Deer Farm has been moved to a more pristine location where these four-legged mammals are freer to move…
It’s the newest place to check out here in Naga City. A place where Spanish meets Filipino with a bit of Bicolano. But when you think of it, it’s pretty much us Bicolanos, a combination of great Spanish influence with traditional Filipino heritage. Que Pasa Naga where old meets modern street feels. Finally, a fresh new perspective to Nagueños and Bicolanos with great architecture and new experience.
Que Pasa Naga in the beginning was a concept made over a year of planning and finally building it to what it is now. The brains behind this new concept is the Power Couple of Bigg’s Diner, Carlo and Rica Buenaflor.
I had the privilege to be one of the lucky few to experience Que Pasa Naga even before it opened to the public last May 2015. After that experience I just can’t wait for it to open finally in public and share it to everyone that I know, what a great place it is.
Location
First of all let’s talk about it’s location. Located at the heart of the city, Que Pasa Naga is located along Corner Barlin St. and Iglesia St fronting the Porta Mariae of the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral. It was once an old house with great historic beginnings. Que Pasa managed to keep it’s old brick fences and the Arch opening from the previous owners.
What to eat?
Karenderia anyone? Que Pasa Naga is giving you back that experience with a bit of class! Que Pasa Naga’s Toro-Toro makes you feel that you’r still in-charge in what your taste buds really want. So how dose it work?
Choose your meat: Chicken, Pork, Baby Back Ribs, Tuna and Roast Beef. (You can order more that one meat)
Choose your sauce: Que Pasa Sauce, Chili Xocolate, Cervesa Negra, Bicol. (Take note that everyone has their personal opinion on what sauce is better with what meat. So I advice to you that if you’re a first timer ask for the server what’s the best sauce for what meat you choose. My personal favorite is Bicol)
Choose your sides: There are alot of available sides to choose from some of those are laing, bicol express, pinangat, judias blancas, mac and cheese and many more. (You can choose more than one side dish. So don’t limit yourself to one, try something new and maybe you’ll find the one. haha. My personal favorite is the Mac and Cheese)
Choose your rice: Laing Rice, Pimenton garlic Rice, Spanish Rice and Plain Rice
Choose what to drink and maybe desert? They have canned drinks and their special Ice tea. Their desserts are: Leche Flan, Buco Pandan and the Roasted Coconut.
Pay what you ordered.
