oh he absolutely didn't

but I think thats mostly because no one saw him? Like he saved a bunch of people on the truck but then Chris went missing so Buck went to find him. Meaning when help arrived for the truck, he wasn't there for people to point to as the one who saved a bunch of them.

He helped people, then vanished. And honestly, I dont think he wanted any credit or recognition - he just wanted Christopher to be safe. Eddie said "theres no one who will fight as hard for my son as you" and he doesn't even KNOW how hard Buck fought during that. I wouldn't be surprised if Buck still has nightmares about it but his trauma from it hasn't ever been addressed really.

the background on Buck's phone is a picture Christopher drew for him YEARS ago and Chris is mortified that its STILL the background but Buck wouldn't change it for the world

Maddie, Hen, Chimney, Carla, May, and Athena have a betting pool for Buck/Eddie happening. Bobby was invited but didn't think it was appropriate for him to participate as their captain

The 118 squad get Bobby a Father's Day card and cake and Bobby only cries a little (read: a lot)

There's a group chat for the SOs of the 118 (Athena, Karen, Maddie) which is mostly just them planning wine nights

The Jeep Buck drives now is not the same one Maddie gave him to help him leave Pennsylvania but when he got a new car, it wasn't even a question as to what kind - it symbolizes too much for him to ever drive anything else

The Wilsons are in regular contact with Nia and her mom - they get together about once a month and will even do holidays together

Hey! I keep seeing you post that show the Artful Dodger, and I googled it, and I’m interested in the premise but have no prior knowledge of Oliver Twist. Is that an issue if I want to watch the show?

Hey! Absolutely not. I've never read it, and knew nothing other than its about an orphan named Oliver Twist. They do a pretty good job of explaining who Jack and Fagin are (the two characters who were in Oliver Twist and now in the show) and what their history is.

Ricky certainly had Nini at her best, so did EJ.

Both Ricky, EJ, and Gina had each other, separately, at their worst.

but in Gina's and EJ's case, Gina's wasn't at her worst when she was with EJ.

I think I disagree with EJ having Nini at her best. Ricky definitely didn't the second time around.

I don't think Gina had EJ at his worst either. I think he went from being at his best with her to not his WORST, but obviously very much not his best. I'm mostly thinking in terms of how they let whats going on in their lives affect their relationship/how they handle things in the relationship.. so like EJ was under a lot of stress directing and was jealous of Gina/Ricky but he wasn't deleting texts or giving people food poisoning.

I knew I had a point in sending you the quote but... I forgot it...

I mean if I had to guess your point, I'd say its a fairly apt description of the Gina/Ricky/Nini situation. I dunno if I'd say Nini had Ricky at his best, but she certainly had him working his butt off to make things work.

Nini's reaction to Gina having been in a relationship with the boys she dated tho lol.

Although Nini's grown from the insecuew girl she was but still its fun to think of what her reaction would be lol

I don't think we ever got Nini's reaction to EJ/Gina, which would be just as layered as her reaction to her response to Ricky/Gina.

I get where you're coming from with saying Nini's growth was from being insecure to gaining confidence, but personally, I think itwas more her going from an interesting and flawed character to being the writers' Little Miss Perfect (dare I say... almost a Mary Sue). But that's a rant for another day.

I think her reaction to Ricky/Gina would should be vindication. We saw in s1 and s2 that she was jealous of their relationship. I think the response the show would give us would be along the lines of "finally! good for them!" but its more fun to think of her response being "I fucking KNEW it"

U kno what im coming around rina. Its so clear that their relationship is so healthy. And that they are trying to learn from their past.

I still do not appreciate how they effed EJ's character to make that happen, but its is what it is and Rina is a healthy relationship

I'll be honest, rina was one of those ships I didnt have an opinion on really so I decided to read some fic for it and the fic is what made me be like "oh...yeah ok this is a good ship"

They are healthy and they have this implicit understanding of each other. Plus... they became friends when they were each at their worst and STILL liked each other. They saw each other at their respective worst and STILL chose to see the best.

In fairness, they didn't just mess with EJ's character. Nini and Ricky had some character wtf moments on the way. The writers did EJ dirty but I don't think it was just for rina purposes. I just think they didnt know what to do with him. There's just too much about EJ's storyline that doesn't make sense if you spend .3 seconds thinking about it
