And while we are on the topic of coffee...we finished off this bag today and it is honestly the first really disappointing bag of @cambercoffee I have had. We have some great ones and we have had good ones. This one is the first I would classify as serviceable but not up to their lofty standards. In my opinion, the roast on these beans is too dark. What that means to the flavor in the cup is that I mostly taste bitter chocolate which completely overshadows the more nuanced flavors a coffee unfolds usually. In an Ethiopian coffee like this I would normally expect some telltale earth and nuttiness, neither of which is detectable in the slightest. Because the roast is so dark, it is also difficult to impossible for me to tell if the bean quality is not up to snuff and the roast too dark, or if it is the roast that obscures the bean quality.
