Rialto is my favorite fine dining restaurant in Cambridge (Catalyst is a close second). I was excited to go back with four others, so we were able to try a lot of different things.
We shared an order of five oysters, each with a different mignonette. All of the sauces were delicious, and I enjoyed the variety.
I started with prosciutto with asparagus, ricotta salata and summer truffles.
My sister ordered my favorite appetizer: grilled clams, andouille, and toasted garlic bread. Every element had that "grilled" flavor, which I love.
There was also asparagus soup...
...and beef tartare with Garum, lemon garlic zabaglione, capers
We also tried the soft shell crab appetizer special.
For my entree I ordered the butter poached Lobster with wild mushrooms, English peas, smoked bacon and ramp butter. This was the best lobster I have ever eaten...It probably had something to do with all of the butter.
We split three desserts, and my favorite was the rum baba with pineapple cardamom confit and piña colada cream & mango. The pineapple confit was especially interesting and delicious.
I also enjoyed the sparkling ice cream soda with Brachetto D’Acqui, strawberry, rhubarb, raspberry syrup, bittersweet chocolate. It was refreshing and the raspberries at the bottom of the glass were a nice surprise.
Although we were full, of course we ate all of the cookies that came with the check.
