congrats on the last stretch for your new machine! now, since you've played around with the videocamera.ini file, do you know if any settings in it would allow me to manipulate the increments for the cinematic camera? meaning how far the camera moves when you press WASD or the arrow keys.
for example, lets say tapping "D" once moves the camera to the right 100 pixels, but I want it to move 25 pixels or 150 pixels instead. is there anything like that? thanx!

Here are my settings:
I can't remember now precisely which settings do what, most important are the Speed settings, but they should be reasonably self explanatory. The great thing about the videocamera.ini (and the camera.ini) is that you can edit it while the game is running and when you tab back in it'll update with the new settings. That makes it really easy to experiment and test what works best for you.
Here's a link to download my videocamera.ini in case you want to compare it side-by-side to yours and play around with it. Bear in mind under the View section it's set up with my Shadows for Days settings to be used alongside Simp4Sims' alt clipping sgr file.
