Oooh, that's a wonderful question for both of them. Thank you so much for the ask!
[ 🪢 ]ㅤ.ㅤwhen was the last time they broke a promise ?
Ares Shepard: Kaidan made Ares promise to specifically not tell Coats that he went to Terra Nova to flush out a nest of separatists, but when Kaidan goes dark and Ares recieves troubling news from Joker, Ares is very quick to break that promise.
Cameron Shepard: On Akuze, when his Captain made him promise to take care of the team, Cameron already knew that he would have to break that promise.

From The Pendulum. With a bonus line.
“You’ll have to take that up with Shepard personally, Major, or the acting Council. I only approved your transfer and only because you and Shepard made a good team in the past.”
Kaidan snorted. There was no denying that. They had been through hell and back going after Saren and Sovereign. Kaidan had never served under a CO like Shepard before. Some might suggest that Shepard’s style was bordering on the verge of fraternization. Those people obviously never had been on the receiving end of one of Shepard’s dress-downs where his razor-sharp tongue would put even an admiral out of their boots.

🎐🔒🪦 for the Shepard of your choice! ( @astorythatwritesitself )
Thank you for the ask @astorythatwritesitself!
I will go with Cameron Shepard here 😊
[ 🎐 ]ㅤ.ㅤdo they have a sound, like a song or voice, that they associate with peace ?
The Irish Rovers · Drunken Sailor · Song · 2012
He associates this with peace because this is the song he is singing together with Ken Donnelly and Garrus a lot in the galley after hours.
[ 🔒 ]ㅤ.ㅤwhat is a secret they’ve sworn never to tell ?
Cameron dated his captain when they were both sent to Akuze. Alec begged him to shoot him when he realised he would die from the acid he had been doused with. Cameron complied. He never told anyone. Not that he had shot his captain nor that he had been in love with said captain. Liara is the first to find out during their first mind meld.
[ 🪦 ]ㅤ.ㅤwhat would they want on their gravestone but never admit aloud ?
Here lies Cameron Shepard who was allowed to live in peace and quiet after the Reaper war.
Renegon; Earther; sole survivor; Infiltrator; he would galdly give his life if it means Kaidan is save; he just "forgot" to even mention this to Kaidan.

Thank you, @mallaidhsomo, for the prompt!
Shepard’s cabin was soothing, Kaidan realised, when he laid down on the bed, the only light illuminating the cabin coming from the fish tank. There were no noises here that irritated his pounding head even more, no glaring lights that stabbed into his eyes. Hell, Shepard’s cabin even smelled soothing.
“Do you need anything else?” Shepard asked softly, his hand resting on Kaidan’s shoulder.
Kaidan blushed. The hand reminded him of how Shepard had to half carry him to his cabin because Kaidan simply was dead on his feet.
“No,” Kaidan replied, his voice scratching in his throat. “Thanks, Cam.”
“Sure thing.” Kaidan closed his eyes, waiting for the sound of Shepard’s door opening and closing. Instead, he felt a dip in the mattress as Shepard sat down beside him. “Promise me something, though.”
“What?”
He felt something cool touching his face, and he opened his eyes, realising that it was Shepard’s necklace that was caressing his skin. “Stop being an eejit and let me help you before the pain gets worse enough for you to fall down a flight of stairs, alright?”
Kaidan snorted, but moaned the next second when a lance of molten iron ran through his prefrontal cortex. “Don’t make me laugh, Cam, dammit!”
“Sorry.” Was it Kaidan’s imagination or did Shepard press a soft kiss to his temple? “Sleep. I’ll be on the couch if you need me.”
Kaidan wanted to protest, wanted to tell Shepard to just lie down next to him, but his meds started to work and took him away into pain-free oblivion.
🌿 who is your favourite character you've ever written?
Oh, that's a tie actually between two namesakes: Cameron Mitchell of SG-1 and my OC!Shepard, Cameron Shepard of Mass Effect. Shepard is a recent one, but I love writing a pissed off Irish sharpshooter with a very short temper.
🍓 worst thing you've done to your characters
Character A deceived character B (not telling B that the blood to replenish his magic system was actually coming from A).
I think what will be worse for me to write will be Cameron Shepard pulling a gun on Kaidan again. While Kaidan is flaring. With nose bleed. And eye bleeds. Yeah.
07. What's one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them?
Oh, that is a very good question. At first, Cameron was only a "named" Shepard for the FFF challenges, but he kinda grew on me & I started a playthrough with him. One thing that definitely changed is that, originally, I wanted him to suffer from imposter syndrome. Only that it doesen't fit his narrative anymore. I guess I'll know for sure once I get The Pendulum done.
14. How does your OC want to be seen by other characters?
He doesn't like to admit to it, but he wants to be appreciated for who he is. He wants to be seen as a humorous, fair, no-nonsense kind of commanding officer who like to help out his peers if he can. His quick and hot temper get in the way of that sometimes.
17. What is the the worst you have put your OC through story wise?
I guess I have to put a CW for thrasher maw acid here.
I only hinted at it in Devils Never Cry, but it's going to play a major role in Cameron's story The Pendulum. He's an Infiltrator. As such, he possesses the uncanny ability to remain absolutely still. So still actually that the Thrasher Maws on Akuze simply ignored him. His Captain and lover Alec, however, wasn't so lucky. When it became clear that Alec would die of his injuries anyways, he asked Cameron to do the mercyful thing. Cameron complied. He never talked about it and never got over it.
23. What emotion is the hardest for your your OC to process? How about express?
The hardest to process is loneliness within a crowd, if that makes sense. You know, the feeling that you're not really welcome, not really invited though you were specifically asked to be there. Cameron hates that. The hardest emotion to express for him is joy. He learned quite early on with the 10th Street Reds that it was better not to show you enjoyed something because it could be used against you. Same goes for sadness, btw.
