For the past 2 editions of the event, my forte had been executing the race pack collection (RPC) process. So I was pretty apprehensive when I was told to lead the team at checkpoint (CP) 8. The CP, Kg Panggen is located furthest from the starting line, the u-turn point for 100KM runners and deep within the Boh tea plantation. The orang asli village is just one of the many located in Cameron Highlands. What’s unique about this CP is that on Friday, the day before the race, CSR activities will be conducted with the villagers such as giving out donated items (a big hit), games with the children as well as a feast for dinner. As I was occupied at the race site, I entrusted the responsibility of executing the activities to the crew, some who had been assigned at the very same place last year. I’m happy to report that it was a success and I would like to credit that to @beechoclover who gave the team guidance as she had been the team lead for the past 2 editions. On top of that, she came up with a list of games for the children, went shopping for prizes and wrapped them up in cute hampers (all while I was busy going about like a headless chicken in preparing for race pack collection day). Of course not forgetting the crew of CP8 who ensured the success of the activities through their team work and participation.
