Hello would you please be able to explain the name meaning of 加茂 劉芳, Kamo Ryūhō from K. If you could I would be very happy thank you for your time
Camo 加茂Kamo-no-ōmikami [迦毛大御神], also known as Ajisukitakahikone, is the deity of agriculture and thunder. He is the son of Ōkuninushi and Takirihime, the latter being one of the three Munakata goddesses. (There are a couple deities with “kamo” in name, but I think this one is the most related.) 加茂 is also a common surname and place name in Japan.BTW, Shinsengumi’s two commanders were Serizawa and Kondo Isami. Camo bears the same name as the former, and his saber “Kotetsu” bears the same name as the latter’s famous sword.
Ryūhō 劉芳In Japanese it doesn’t make sense. In Chinese, “劉” was the surname of the emperors of Han Dynasty, and is the 4th common surname used nowadays. “芳” means fragrance and is commonly used in girl’s first name. … So I guess the meaning isn’t in this kanji combination. But when changing the first kanji to another “ryū”, it’ll become the proverb “流芳”, which means “leave a good name behind”.
Happy birthday to Camo Ryūhō~☆
