Dear Anon,
Who saw fit to write to me, and tell me what they thought Derek Chauvin did for society, I assume in response to this post.
I doubt that you will see this response, but here you go anyway...
I'll tell you what I think Derek Chauvin has done for society, besides show his blatant disregard for the sanctity of human life -
And that is -
He has put and even brighter national (or worldly) spotlight on policing, and the fact that there has been a blue shield covering these types of bad actors in the U.S. police force for too long. And finally that blue shield has a crack, and we the people need to keep cracking it, until it breaks into a million pieces. Until policing in this nation (and the world) is forever changed for the better, so that it serves and protects THE PEOPLE, not the thin blue line.
It's (past) time to end bad policing. Derek Chauvin is just the excuse we needed to get a move on with it.
Rest in peace George Floyd.
