“Weird Al Takes the Bowl”
Yes, we did go see Weird Al Yankovic’s concert at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday, July 22, 2016!! ;) It really was a lot of fun and nostalgic. Lots of his songs came out when I was young and it has been decades since I’d heard them. It made me laugh and just realize how brilliant Weird Al is! He has so many costume changes, whew!
Camry did a great job guiding as usual; enjoyed laying down on her blanket during the show; weaved me through the crowds effortlessly, - she rocks!!
It was that time of year again...Fun Day!! What? You don’t know about Fun Day? Just hanging out with Camry and I make it Fun Day, right?! Just Kidding, well, maybe...hahaha! ;) Seriously, July 16, 2016 was Guide Dogs for the Blind’s 58th Annual Fun Day and this year’s theme was “Wonder Dogs”. Fun Day is a puppy raiser appreciation day :) Puppy raisers rock!! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart - because of each of you, i and so many others, have been given the gift of independence with our four-legged angels!!
Opening ceremonies was very beautiful and emotional, a tribute to puppy truck driver, Lee Shank, who unexpectedly passed away a few months ago....sniff, sniff...we miss you Lee!!
Camry, David and I had a great time, the weather was beautiful as we walked around chatting it up with new and old friends :) We had a quick moment to see one of Camry’s puppy raisers and her club members, so that was extra special!!
Before the 8-10 week old puppies were handed out to their excited puppy raisers, Camry and I had the honor to participate in the ceremonial groundbreaking of Guide Dogs for the Blind’s new puppy center! It’s a great project that I’m super excited about. It will be a state of the art whelping facility, plus the “Young Heroes Academy” (where you will be able to see the puppies learning to walk on a leash and exploring their new world) and the “Learning Lab” (an education area with exhibits showcasing “both sides of the harness”, so that includes us, the graduates)!! Donations are needed, so please, donate!!
Ended the day by visiting with some friends and having a yummy BBQ!! Another great Fun Day!! For more photos from the CA Fun Day: https://www.flickr.com/photos/guidedogsfortheblind/sets/72157670495203062

Oh, the hard hat was too big and falling off my head but it looks like I’m wearing it with a cute tilt, so it worked out, hahaha!! :D
Wednesday, July 13, 2016, Paws of Fame Los Angeles, Alumni and Friends of Guide Dogs for the Blind, had a wonderful opportunity to participate in the 10th Annual “Dog Day At the Cathedral” in Downtown Los Angeles! We set up a table and enjoyed meeting and educating over 1,000 people with their dogs!!
What a great way to be part of the community and help spread the word! :D

Friday, July 8, 2016 Camry and I took public transit to meet David in Pasadena. Off to the LA Zoo to take the park and ride shuttle to the Hollywood Bowl! This time we saw “Star Trek in Concert”. It was fun and hearing the score live was amazing!!
The only downside was the people sitting behind us :( The guy smacked his lips as he chewed his sandwich loudly, burped several times and would talk loudly during the movie...sigh! People can be so rude and gross but what’s worse is that they are totally oblivious, thinking they are doing nothing wrong :(
I thought of mi papi a lot this day - it would have been his birthday! I miss you immensely but I know you are celebrating with la familia en el cielo!! :D
