Sorry if you may have been asked this before, or genuinely don't know, but I have a couple questions,
Why did Isaac vehemently deny the group having contact with buttons, but he knew Tao was talking to it
And why were you lot willing to stick around him when he openly admitted he doesn't listen to you guys?
so I know no one really has any reason to believe me but I can promise you when I say that I had no idea tao was ever talking to buttons. in fact, I told them not to on multiple occasions. just going through the most recent logs (at least in terms of the rant/drama text channel), tao was repeatedly told not to interact with buttons. I myself told them multiple times that I do not like nor trust buttons and they are a dangerous and disgusting person to talk to.
and, in some cases, it almost seemed like tao was attempting to defend buttons, or at least make it seem like what they didn’t wasn’t that bad.
(isaac is the deleted user, blocked out names are people no longer associated with isaac who disavow him)
I also expressed how I thought buttons was untrustworthy, considering how they have an obvious vendetta against grey. rin had also told me about buttons actions later on (I’m such an old man when it comes to knowing ACC/SCC drama), to which I outright told tao to not talk to them anymore.
I’ve mentioned before how I believe tao was in a seperate discord with isaac discussing drama in the later months of our friendship. this is because, again, I wanted to step back and was trying to put my foot down about drama still flooding the server. if not a separate server, isaac and tao still discussed drama in DMs and would then talk about it in calls in the main server. many times I wouldn’t have any idea what was happening and would have to get filled in by tao or someone else later on.
at first, I didn’t really mind isaac’s comment about not taking me seriously. it’s similar to something my mom used to tell me when I was younger.
“I’m older than you, I have more years of experience than you, so you need to listen to what I say”
and I thought the same with isaac. which is fine in some cases. obviously you’d want someone with more experience in the food industry cooking your food as opposed to the new guy who’s only worked there for a month. isaac has had more experience with things like drama and discourse than I have. I only see now that that isn’t exactly a good thing.
don’t get me wrong, I’ve always been fascinated with internet discourse and how it always seems to spiral out of control. but now, looking back, isaac never really took me seriously unless I brought up an experience to back him up. that’s how a good chunk of our friendship started after all, with me saying that comparing his art to CSAM is distasteful as a victim of CSAM.
in a way, I didn’t view it as “I’m older than you so I won’t listen to you” and more like “I’m older than you so I’ll take what you have to say with a grain of salt”. which, again, is fine, but it’s clear now that he never really understood that I was giving my all to try and protect him
this is especially apparent during something that happened in may. I’ve explained this to a few people in private but that month was genuinely the worst for me and isaac provided no comfort when I really needed it. but considering the incident itself is in “legal limbo”, I’m not sure if I can speak on it fully. at least not yet 💜💖
