I'm a sorta-brythonic-sorta-gaulish polytheist and I've found lots of your posts about Belenos really informative and *really* moving. I've been wondering lately if I have a potential connection to Him but I... don't feel worthy? Mental illness dominates my life; recovery and healing feel like a massive mountain ahead of me. I don't feel like I'm capable of the sort of shining confidence He would want of me? Should I reach out now, or would it be better to wait until later in my healing journey?

Belenos has ‘rejected’ someone before, under the guise that the person was already clustered with Gaulish deities of a sort opposing ideologies / tribal identities? It was never made too clear.

I can feel through you definitely have what is takes to be a Belhound. Camulos is a friend of Belenos, so if you have a relationship with Camulos, He can certain made it easier. Both appeared in the same areas of Gaul and Britain, which would tie to your Brythonic-Gaulish Polytheism.

The best and greatest advice I can give you is to persevere. There will always still be times where you’re going to breakdown and cry. But there will be times you smile. Shining confidence is not whole. It is doubtful, is it sorrowful, it could be anxious or terrifying. What is truly important is that when the doubt passes, the sorrow ends, when the anxiety draws to a still, when the terror subsides is  that you survive, stronger than ever. The world is warming up, Belenos stirs. Soak in the sun. Sing off-key. Write poety of blood and light. Reset your heart to zero. Above all do not look back, if only it’s to see how far you’ve come.
