As a Canadian, the jokes about the fires aren’t funny to me. Call me dramatic, but this is becoming a yearly occurrence every fucking summer across Canada and preventative measures are not being taken.
Fines need to be higher for dumbasses who light their grass on fire in the spring when it’s windy. The threats about jail time needs to be more than just threats… slapping people on the wrist who start forest fires isn’t doing anything. It should also be a law that ditches on rural properties have to be maintained. Our government needs to put more funding into water bombers and teams.
I watched several friends escape with nothing during the Fort Mac fire. That was utterly insane and made national news. The sad thing is, we’ve lost more towns since then. I’m in northern BC and we were on evacuation alert because of the fires last year… it was so bad it felt like the apocalypse seeing people lined up for miles for gas and supplies knowing they’d be traveling for hours to get to a safe zone check point.
Anywho. Yes, I’m sorry your air in Michigan and the east coast sucks right now. But imagine how those who are directly affected by the fires feel.
hey people in/near canada how are yall doing
I Hope all my Canadian followers and mutuals are staying safe right now, I hope things get better for anyone who is affected by the fires.
Stay safe, stay strong, stay together.
Hey all for whoever doesn't know, my home province of British Columbia is on fire currently and tons of people are on evacuation notice, and I haven't really seen any media about it, so just here spreading awareness
BTW, I'm Living in an Area Affected by the Wildfires in Canada
Don't worry, I'm safe. It just sucks that the air outside is a death trap right now. I'm hoping it does clear during the weekend.
I'm also hoping that the wildfires are put out before they get worse & everyone else is safe too.
