Not to rain on your Canada day parade (get it?) cause I know you'll all celebrate today, it's a day off work, right? But let's all just take 5 minutes today to think about what it would feel like to be an Indigenous person in a crowd of people celebrating the genocide of your people to take the land that used to be yours. That's all I ask of you! 5 minutes out of your regular scheduled drinking program. "

I certainly did take more than 5 minutes out of my day to consider what it would be like an Indigenous person celebrating what is supposed to be a day filled with pride for a nation that has not done much to care for their Indigenous peoples. I hope others did, too!
