Has anyone else been on canakinumab? I’ve been on it about three months, and while the doc seemed to think it would magically cure me, it hasn’t.Lymph nodes are still enormous, still having nightly high fevers, and my bones still feel like they’re shattering inside me. Like puking, sobbing on the bathroom floor levels of pain. The recent cold front hasn’t improved this any. My joints are so swollen they’re bruising. And I still have my rash that's makes people freak out and not want to touch me. It’s not contagious, folks, I promise. (The canakinumab is for CAPS, an autoinflammatory disease, which of course came with a metric shit ton of comorbidities. Of course.) Any help would appreciated. Help?

Round 2 of the canakinumab today. (What I like to call take your human to the vet day) Round one was less than enjoyable, but the rheumy thinks it may just be an adjustment period. Then on the drive home the spousal unit decides to throw a screaming fit and announce that he doesn’t want a sick wife and that this is NOT how he had planned for his life to work out. Huh. Wish I could just opt out of The Sick People Experience like that. Is there somewhere we can get a refund on shitty bodies? Am I missing something? Today can absolutely eat a bowl of dicks.

It’s a good day!

Finally, something worked out! My diagnoses of Still’s Disease was overturned, and I have been diagnosed with Cryopyrin Associated Periodic Fever Syndrome instead. My rheumy asked for Ilaris, not expecting it to get approved, with the plan to move on to anakinra. Not only did it get approved, but I got copay assist!!! What would have cost $19,000 now costs $50 (this is an extra huge deal since I was forced to resign from my job due to illness, we’re “rationing ramen noodles and toilet paper” broke lol). And the lady from Ilaris was super nice when I started sobbing uncontrollably. IT’S A GOOD DAY!!!
