July 20 2019 National Lollipop Day This is from the hotel I work at. This girl was a front desk staff member with me, moved away with her family when her husband got a good job offer. Really nice girl. I went all over town looking for lollipops and couldn't find diddly. Went to our local 7-11 and bought a bunch of tootsie roll ones and others. It was like 50 bucks for freaking suckers 😂😂 A while before this I bought this cactus holder but I hadn't put a plant in it. So the lollipops are in it even though the pic got cut off. I left them on the desk so people checking in were free to grab it as they pleased. One of the small things we do for our guests. Canalta serves the prairies and you can't get better service! If you're ever in Alberta, some parts of Saskatchewan and Manitoba, look up Canalta and try to stay at one. They do a 7 star standard. If you know anything about hotels, you know they only go to 5 stars. Canalta has a couple dozen locations and they all strive to do better then best. From decorating rooms when there is a wedding or birthday, to clearing off your cars in the winter, we do it all. I personally have boosted probably close to 20 cars. We've done breakfast at midnight for night workers and then set back up for breakfast at 6 for the rest of the guests. You can't work there unless you have the empowerment to do more then what's asked of you. We don't get special rewards or bonuses for doing it either. We do it because that is the basis of each of our personalities. We do have work perks but it isn't why we do it. Now don't be fooled! We may go above and beyond but we take no crap! Our hotel has a reputation for no horse play. We don't mess around or let our staff or others be mistreated or disrespected. We have very minimal problems because of it so it is generally a great atmosphere and everyone is willing to bend over backwards. As with any service, always be kind to hotel workers. We have the power to upgrade you to a jacuzzi for no cost 😘😘

Enjoyed the Road Trip concert last night! Was a great night out without the kid to enjoy our 5 year anniversary (which was today). Jess Moskaluke, Dean Brody and Paul Brandt rocked the Canalta Centre! One of the better concerts I've been too in awhile. Kept my eating mostly on point but I did indulge with some delicious poutine for dinner. Back at it tomorrow. I'm almost to my first goal weight, only 6lbs to go. Ultimate goal weight is still another 20lbs but I'll take it one pound ar a time.
