She felt guilty for the position she had been given. It was a good thing, heavy though it was for her. She had not gotten her rank through ambition or greed. She mourned her fallen captain, and wished to carry on his legacy. Ashitaka had ALWAYS admired and appreciated Ukitake the most out of the captains. The man’s morals had been almost aligned with his own. He gave Kuchiki a small smile. ❝ I knew Ukitake for a very long time. ❞ They had been about the same age. ❝ I believe he would feel at ease with entrusting the heart of the division to you. ❞ Ashitaka did not know Kuchiki Rukia personally, but he had known many young Shinigami.
