Royale and Candlewax, a couple of reapers in a lil concept story. Theyre souls of people who committed suicide that wash up in the outer ring of the afterlife and slowly turn into these skelly guys as they settle into their powers. they have complete amnesia but being dead doesnt feel all that different at first for lost souls, so its pretty disorienting. their names are just the first word that sticks in their minds

Royale hauls Candlewax out of the black river and has to train him how to fight and absorb corrupt soul fragments - it all happens very quickly. Reapers are powerful but not safe in the outer ring and they have to keep on their toes, and Royale isn't the most patient teacher either. Candlewax doesn't realize he's dead for a while until he notices his own bone markings appearing.

They face off with a corrupt angel feather far before Candlewax is ready and it overcharges his powers, completing his transformation into a reaper as well. concept never really got past this point narratively!

Royale and Candlewax find comfort in each other as mentor and apprentice though and Royale especially softens from a "tough luck bub get good" kinda guy into someone Candlewax can rely on after finally having someone to trust and care for.
