Candy Buffets – The Sweet Treat That Can’t Be Beat
In recent times candy buffets have become a welcome addition to the wedding scene. What is great about them is the versatility that they provide for you and your wedding guests. Traditionally most weddings will bring out the wedding cake or an alternating dessert plate. Don’t get me wrong because I have yet to have a dessert that I did not like (I do like my crème brulee and tiramisu), but a candy buffet takes it to an extra level.
Firstly you can pick and choose your own favourite candies such as smarties, jellybeans, caramel, musk and so on. What many couples like to do is not only include their favourite candies but also that of their bridal party, parents and guests. While the day is about you both, by choosing candy that is also the guests favourite is that it makes them feel closer and more a part of the wedding day. We had one couple who included one of their father’s favourite candy. It was a nice little surprise that put a smile on his face.
What’s also a great idea is theming the candy to the colours of the wedding. It doesn’t matter what colours you choose as you can incorporate any candy into the candy buffet to mix and match colours. For example if you colours are green and white, you can have spearmint leaves, green smarties, milk bottles and much more. Throw your colour scheme at us and we will find a tasty solution.
In some cases couples have a specific colour in mind and have trouble finding the right type of candy to match their candy buffet. In one case a client wanted a candy buffet and wanted some black candy to go with their theme… yet they did not want liquorice. In fact they had trouble finding candy flavours that were not black and liquorice. With our extensive knowledge of candyology we came up with a couple of simple solution’s such as blackberry and black cherry flavours.
Lastly and perhaps the best bit is that with our candy buffets… the candy is YOURS. At the end of the night you can take it home with you. We leave little containers on the buffet table for the guests to fill with the candy of their choosing. A growing trend is using a candy buffet, not only as your dessert as well as your event favors so guests can enjoy them on their ride home. Since we pack and give you all the left over candy, you can enjoy them the next morning with some champagne from your hotel.
