Sweet Candy Cane Cookies-Holiday Baking Delight
Easy Candy Cane Cookies-Festive Holiday Treat
These Hidden Mickey Candy Cane Cookies will add a touch of Disney magic to your holiday baking. These delectable cookies combine the flavors of buttery sugar cookies and refreshing peppermint, with a fun twist in the form of the iconic Mickey shape.
Ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2 cups all-purpose flour. teaspoon salt. teaspoon red food coloring. cup crushed peppermint candy canes. cup powdered sugar.
Instructions: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms. Divide the dough in half. Add red food coloring to one half and knead until the color is evenly distributed. Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Take a small amount of each colored dough and roll them into ropes of equal length. Twist the ropes together and shape them into candy cane shapes with a hidden Mickey design. Place the candy cane cookies on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. While the cookies are baking, mix the crushed peppermint candy canes and powdered sugar in a bowl. Once the cookies are done baking, let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. While the cookies are still slightly warm, dust them with the peppermint powdered sugar mixture. Enjoy these festive Hidden Mickey Candy Cane Cookies with a touch of peppermint delight!
