Honestly that just sounds like bad editing. What’s the point of shooting all that action and whatever if nobody can see it?

You can create atmosphere while still being able to convey what’s happening. Like damn.

When will people in film learn that “dark and gritty” does not mean “so dark your viewers cannot see.” You can have darker lighting and themes without LITERALLY making it very dark. I’ve had this issue with some movies before and it totally ruined the film because idk what is happening!!

Look at Guillermo Del Toro movies for example. A lot of his work incorporates dark themes figuratively and literally, but it is still viewable and visually appealing.

Someone pointed out that another huge fight that happens at night is the battle of Helm’s Deep in LotR, and you can perfectly see everything that’s going on, because instead of just turning the brightness slider all the way down they use deep blues and contrast to make it feel dark but still look good. It also makes for a much more interesting look, and shows an actual good understanding of color and basic image editing

I.. Just... They could have said "I have PTSD and the stress has caused me these physiological problems" and their point would have gotten across fine without all that graphic detail. Like... There's a time and a place. I know it can help to talk about truama but you really need to be respectful of whoever you're talking to. Idk. Just. Damn.

thats what I was thinking! Could of saved a lot of time and stress and thats what i would have said myself! Ive noticed before that people on this site seem to dump trauma onto strangers bc they dont know where else to go with it or something. Its extremely unfair to do that to someone who isnt certified to help or expecting it! i’m sure there are help blogs no need to put it on posts about mundane things???
