5/16, A Touch After 8pm

Kalei appreciated Canni's apparent- well. Not Canni's... Kalei appreciated the body's choice in vehicle. A nice, purple jeep. Sure, it had gone to shit in the past decade, but it was a better car than Kalei had. Which was none.

They had one hand anxiously hovering behind Fia's back, as if she was going to collapse any second. Admittedly, she seemed steady enough on her feet, just pinching her nose to keep the bleeding down. But still. She read the King in Yellow. Kalei was not about to be less than paranoid where that book was concerned.

It was nice to see that they wouldn't all be walking, though. Kalei had rushed out of the house with just a crutch in place of their leg to help them navigate all of the bumpy sidewalks nearby, but that made their arm really tired.

(It was easier to talk about sore arms and shitty sidewalks than to admit that Kalei really, really did not want to see how this conversation was about to play out.)

Once they made it up to Canni, Kalei moved their arm away from Fia to wave. "Hello, Canni," they said. "This is Fia."

Please, they thought. Please let Canni not have seen whatever was on those videos.

[Canni] I know I haven’t really texted you before but I’m back from my ‘day trip’ with Kalei and they’ve been keeping me updated on the situation. I have extremely strong painkillers, like the illegal hospital stuff and if I get a close approximation of Kat’s weight and height I can figure out the dose and we might be able to help with the pain. I’d have to smuggle it to you and you’d need to administer it but if you’re okay with this plan I’ll explain how to do everything
