Like many Aves, Cantus is a soulseer; albeit a more powerful one than most due to honing her skills over her far-longer-than-usual life. It's not something she flexes a lot, though - extremely powerful mages tend to attract problems - so she limits her day-to-day seering to detecting souls to make up for lifelong blindness (she still uses a cane though; lightpoles aren't usually alive)

for context of my poem post from earlier today, here’s the cantus poem in question (I have never written a poem before in my life so it might suck 😭😭😭):

Rose buds bloom an articulate flower

music flows like golden sun

everything happens for a reason

though blinded by life, there seems to be none

paths cross and worlds collide

as people leave and flowers die

in such a big and crazy world

it’s easy to feel small and stirred

but from all my years of cheer and woe

there’s one thing I’ve learned that you should know

just think of all you might’ve lost

if things came at a different cost

never fear or back yourself in a corner
