If Red had actually gone against MIRA and sided with Purple, Red would have had a hot, brilliant corporate rebel spouse and a little mini Crewmate baby named Magenta by now, just saying.

Listening to “Gives you Hell” over and over thinking about these two

Purple is "We were never friends." while Red is "It's just a rough spot. The wedding is still happening."
I really love the final voting with Red as the tiebreaker. Because it really had to make Red choose. The sycophantic yes-man who agrees with everything they say and makes them feel good about themselves and every decision they make, who never challenges Red or makes them reflect on themself—
— or someone who knows them. Someone who knows the ugliest, most selfish, most cowardly parts of Red, who forces Red to come to terms with the worst parts of themself, who dares Red to be fucking better because it's the right thing to do and they actually believe Red is capable of doing it, should be capable of doing it. Someone who cared about Red so much that that trust, belief, and betrayal almost ruined their life.
Red and Purple kissed once when they were interns as a dare or a joke or bcos they got drunk, whatever, but Red still thinks about it.
CameraCap Amnesia AU where Purple suffers through an entirely preventable workplace accident and ends up with a little amnesia. They have no memory of the reactor meltdown, the NDA, or the fact that Red let MIRA pin the entire disaster on them for a promotion.
"You're captain now?" Purple squints at their badges, Blue-issued ice pack pressed against their head.
"That's awesome." Purple touches the tassels of their uniform, smiling softly. "I knew you could do it. I'm so proud of you."
Red likes Green because Green makes them feel important. Like Red is actually competent, capable, and reliable, someone who deserves their position, someone who earned it.
(Red likes Green because Green acts like how they wish Purple would. Fawning, appreciative, and adoring. But Purple would never. Purple isn't like that.
Because Purple knows exactly what Red is.)
