This is an idea that WOULDN'T leave me be since becoming a newbie MM Classic+X fan (and being a Shantae fan since PC) Even came up with a crossover scenario about it:X and Zero along with Axl both end up in Sequin Land after the events of MMX8/Command Mission (turned into human cyborgs) by some dimensional/magical anomaly warping them into the genie realm.
The genies hear of their stories and decide to give them a chance at happiness along with asking for their assistance to protect Sequin Land and to help Shantae, but ONLY if if they accept. Like this time, they have a choice whether they want to fight or not. They'll still get their happiness even if they don't. However, helping people in need is what they do best, so they accept.
X ends up being the same age as Shantae, Zero Sky's age. They all become part human. They look the same except their armor is removable and they have skin and organs. They still have cybernetic right arms and legs though. It's to blend in since the Shantae world is NOT as technologically advanced as their world, and they DO get a heads up on what to expect when being an organic/human, good AND bad along with the in between but it's WORTH it to them, because they get to be alive for real.
This is due to something I found in the official wiki: A.I. age: 14–15 years old (To Note: Only at the time of his awakening. X matures as time passes, like all reploids.) Also X and Zero would be adults in the MMX CM timeline if they aged, not minors. It's even confirmed that Shantae isn't a minor, so I guessed they'd all be in between 16 - 18 years old. REALLY wanted to avoid misunderstandings and bad connotations.
Their armors also get the Arabian Nights flair too. As for the timeline, the MHX and XDiVE timelines for the MMX gang. WILL incorporate themes from MMZ but NOT directly from it. Basically if MMZ DIDN'T happen in this timeline. In other words... if WEIL DIDN'T didn't ruin everything....... Like I could NEVER bring X and Zero from the MMZero series timeline because it would be like disturbing their peace. But the MHX and Archie timeline and 6, 7 and 8 along with Command Mission are a different story. Only exception is Omega aka Awakened Zero. To incorporate that character development, Omega had to be separated from Zero and converted into Dark Magic. All he needs now is something evil to awaken him.....
As for Shantae, she's a strong and independent lady who DON'T need no man, but if she WANTS one, he would DEFINITELY have to be someone like X. They actually have a LOT in common if you really think about it, such as both have had to make some REALLY tough decisions and struggle with self-doubt and even worth at times. Their dynamic starts out as good friends who have puppy crushes on each other then develops into an official romantic relationship/friendship.
