Remember our 2019 Midyear event? No? Well, it’s back with a new name and slightly adapted, we hope easier rules!

Welcome to the

2022 Inspired By – Steve/Tony Exchange

! Unlike our Holiday Exchange, our midyear exchange is specifically a fanwork exchange between fanartist and writers. The aim is to gift an accompanying work based on your recipients fanworks.

The Inspired By Exchange will consist of 2 parts:

An exchange in which fanworkers sign-up to create an accompanying work that is at least a fully realized sketch, a story of at least 500 words

A treats period that is open to all members of the community to create additional accompanying fanworks as "treats" for any of the signed-up participants.

In their sign-up, participants can also indicate that they would be happy to receive gifts that are accompanying fanworks other than fanart and fanfic. These can be given as main gift or treat but only if requested.

June 18 Exchange sign-ups open

June 25 Sign-ups close at 20:00 UTC (what time is that for me?)

approx. June 25-30 Matching period

June 30 All assignments sent out at the latest- Check your email! As soon as assignments are out, requests will be revealed and collection opened for treats

August 6 Exchange assignments are due by 22:00 UTC (what time is that for me?")

August 12 Collection closes for treats by 22:00 UTC (what time is that for me?")

August 13 Exchange Collection is revealed for browsing and Masterlist of all creations is posted

2022 Inspired By – Steve/Tony Exchange Treating

2022 Inspired By – Steve/Tony Exchange Prompts are now open to treats from everyone!

Sign-Ups and the prompts in them are now visible here .

What are treats?

In the tradition of exchanges such as Yuletide/Yuletide Madness, everybody will be invited to create additional gifts for signed-up participants during our "Madness" period! You do not have to be signed up to the exchange to make a treat for someone. Treats do not need to fulfill the minimum work requirements but must adhere to all other rules of the exchange. Treats can be in any requested medium - not just fic and art! Post your treats directly to the 2022 Inspired By – Steve/Tony Exchange Collection and mark them as a gift for the creator who you're treating. Don't forget to set your gift up as a related work when posting on AO3, under the Associations > "This work is a remix, a translation, a podfic, or was inspired by another work" section.

Treats

As soon as sign-ups are sent out we'll also open the sign-ups so that everyone can see them and treats can be created for all participants in all media requested - not just art and fic.

The collection will remain open a week longer for treats. Collection closes for treats by August 12, 22:00 UTC (what time is that for me?") To fulfill your assignment, upload your work to the 2022 Inspired By – Steve/Tony Exchange Collection by August 6. Your submission will automatically appear as an anonymous “Mystery Gift” after it is checked by the mods. Please link to the original work as a related work when posting on AO3, under Associations, "This work is a remix, a translation, a podfic, or was inspired by another work."
