Not many young teens were as stylish as Desdemona. Her parents didn't let her wear dark lipstick and weren't happy about the short skirts either, but she loved expressing herself this way at school. She knew both her parents were planning to come work at Bluewater Secondary, so she thought she had to do the most for her good reputation while she was still free to independently do so.

[Just like I said about cellphones, it is supposed to be 2009 and I don't really know if this was a cool way for 14 year olds to dress in 2009. However... I don't know any better. So she looks like a mixture of teens today and teens when I was a teen. Which wasn't that long ago. Please forgive the recurring historical inaccuracy of outfits and styles in my posts. Lol.]

Goneril was really tired of sitting at home just being a housewife, and the household funds were critically low as well. Now that her kids were older, she started looking for work.

Goneril: *sigh* Barista, athlete, lounge singer... None of these sound like me. Maybe I should put aside my pride and join in the insurance company after all. No, I'm not good with business, I make the worst decisions, I would only cause more trouble for the family... I wish I'd gotten a degree... I always thought I would make a great geography teacher.

But her dreams of pursuing geography were not quite broken yet. La Fiesta Tech, being the most technologically advanced university in the whole country, was starting numerous online science courses, including one in geography. Goneril got excited at the idea of earning a degree after all these years and going into her dream field finally. She signed up for the course (which she got a scholarship for, covering all of her tuition, for having 3+ children), preparing to spend her days at home reading, writing and building skills.

Then unfortunately Albany got fired from his job as a project leader in psychological research for alleged misconduct of intellectual property. This not only meant that he had to find a new job, but also that Goneril needed to start working too to provide for their children. She became a lab assistant in the Strangetown Central Labs, mostly taking care of rats in the biology department, all while doing her degree. Albany was much luckier, losing his job was an opportunity for him to get started in the education field, and he secured a job as a guest lecturer of psychology at SSU straightaway (he successfully hid away the misconduct allegations). His real goal was to become a high school principal though.

Now that the kids are getting older, Goneril is impatient to start earning money. She is tired of depending on her husband and her father. However, she didn't last long in any "unskilled" job she tried so far. She wishes she could have gone to university and got a degree in her youth so she could do something she's interested in now, but maybe it's not too late yet. And if all else fails, she could always find something to do at the Capp insurance company...

Then Miranda met Ripp, and all of a sudden he was all she could think about. She forgot about Mercutio, Puck, and every local boy she ever liked. Ripp was a real outsider, coming from the edge of town, he was a breath of fresh air in the spoiled Veronaville atmosphere. They fit each other perfectly as well.

Let's talk about this in medias res then, because it also happened without any sort of buildup. Long story short, Puck walked by Miranda's family's house one evening, possibly not in his most self-aware state of mind, and then-single and rebellious Miranda took the opportunity to seduce him despite knowing fully well he was in a relationship with her own cousin. Not to shift the blame from Puck though, because he also knew fully well that he was in a relationship. Lol. They shared a kiss (Miranda's first kiss, she initiated) and they almost ended up woohooing on her parents' bed [before I stopped them and decided to turn ACR cheating off for good. I've seen enough].

It actually makes sense for Puck to not know where the line is, seeing as both of his parents have very "liberal" interpretations of a committed relationship. Perhaps it is simply an elven quirk. Being charming and a little flirtatious with everyone is in their nature, and it's not easy for them to conform to the stricter restrictions of human conventions.

Either way, Miranda and Puck both admitted they made a huge mistake and agreed not to tell Hermia about it, ever.

Everydays at Capp household no.2

[I don't think I've mentioned this before, but in my spreadsheets I name my households in a specific way to avoid mixing up households from the same family. The name of such a household will be the family name and then the initial of the first name of the Sim who is in a "leading position" in the household. This is usually one of the parents or grandparents, the Sim who I imagine owns the house or "sets the rules" or w/e. You get it. Because the Capps are a matriarchal/matrilineal family, I imagine it's Goneril who is symbolically the "head of the family" here in this house, so this household is named Capp G. Regan's household is Capp R, and the "main" Capp household is Capp C - whether that's because of Consort, Cordelia or Contessa is up to interpretation, not even I know. The Montys have a Monty P (after Patrizio), a Monty B (this is Bianca alone) and a Monty M (Mercutio and his now fiancee). Furthermore, both families have a university household in ALT with the creative suffix that is "Uni". I only told this now because I tag my posts with these household names (despite not using them in the posts themselves so far), so just FYI, if anybody was ever curious what those tags meant.]

Then one night, Ripp met someone rather special at Club Dante, and despite neither him nor Miranda feeling ready for commitment before, they were inseparable and soon found themselves in a relationship somehow.

The Capps (#3)

Goneril has been feeling restless stuck at home with the kids and wanted to find herself a job for a long time. Despite being born as the first daughter, Goneril fell away from the title of heir and the granted position of CEO of Capp & Daughters Co. because of her unsatisfactory grades and lack of business skills, so she was married off young instead and didn't get a university education. But now that Ariel has started school too, she's thinking about picking up a role in the family business after all. Albany is currently in science research, but his dream is to work in education. Desdemona is now an impatient preteen while Hal has already grown up into a cheeky teenager. Miranda is just beginning university at Académie Le Tour.
