The sun outside the small cabin was just beginning to rise in earnest, casting soft light over the horizon. Arthur rolled over in bed and sighed heavily, the new rays of light streaming through the soft curtains onto the foot of the bed. He smiled when he found Albert still dozing on his stomach beside him, snoring lightly. Carefully, he slipped his arm beneath the blankets and trailed his hand gently over Albert's spine. The photographer stirred, mumbling something incomprehensible. Arthur laughed silently and let his hand rest over the small of Albert's back.

"Hey," Arthur whispered, scooting closer to Albert under the blankets. "Hey, time to rise and shine."

Albert rolled over onto his side, away from Arthur, whining as he pulled the blankets with him.

"Kinda rude," Arthur laughed, glancing down at his now-exposed torso. Albert mumbled something else, Arthur just able to make out his own name at the end of it. "You said you wanted to get up and help me with the horses, go fishing today," Arthur said, propping himself up on one elbow in the bed.

"'m up, I'm up," Albert mumbled, tugging the blankets tighter around his shoulders.

Arthur laughed and snaked his arm around the photographer's waist. "You don't have to go with me if you'd rather stay here," he said softly, breath ruffling the hairs at the nape of Albert's neck as he spoke.

Albert hummed. "I told you I wanted to go, I'm going," he replied groggily.

"Okay then," Arthur chuckled, running his hand over Albert's side for a moment. "Guess I'll get up... make some coffee."

"Oh, yes, coffee. Coffee would be divine." Albert glanced over his shoulder and gave Arthur a soft smile.

Arthur sighed as he got out of the warm bed and walked around it, heading for the bedroom door. Albert reached out from his nest of blankets as he passed and grasped his hand. Arthur stopped and looked down at Albert, offering him a warm smile.

Albert smiled back, studying Arthur in the soft morning light for a moment before he lifted his hand to his lips. "Good morning," he murmured against Arthur's knuckles.

"Mornin'," Arthur said, slipping his hand from Albert's grasp to run it through the photographer's hair. "You sure you wanna go still?"

"Absolutely," Albert said around a yawn. "Make that coffee and I'll be ready to go in no time."

Arthur chuckled and shook his head. He slipped his hand from Albert's hair and headed out the bedroom door, on a mission to make coffee.

Yeah, like… he’s been searching for something in his field for a few yrs now (his old job is shitty retail) so on one hand we’re like “now we have an excuse to really double down your search” but on the other hand the timing is just…. so bad. >_< I hope something comes along for you! ;;

hhh i cant believe how short notice it was too!! this is the absolute worst time of year for retail employees ugh yikes. i wish him and you luck in finding something, preferably in his field! sending lots of good vibes and ill have hugs for you both at katsu :3c and thank you!! i definitely need to get off my butt and start looking around for something lol
