Dru was watching the sky and not where she was going. She bumped into something. Or rather someone. “Sorry dearie.” She finally looked down to see who she bumped into. “No. No no no no no.” Just as quickly Dru darted away from him. From Spike.
Spike nods at her, hands cupping her face gently. "Yeah, I'm back for good okay? You have your knight again, princess, and I won't stray this time." He's quiet a few moments, pressing a kiss to her cheek. "Promise."
Dru blinks for a moment, enjoying the fell of his hands on her cheeks. A hint of a smile appeared at the kiss. He legs moved to stretch out. As always he was slowly winning her over. “Can I break you if you break it?” She was referring to the promise.
His jaw clenched slightly as he settled down beside her, brushing his fingers through her hair gently. "I don't have to go away, Dru.. We can try again," even though her darling boy is sick, they can try again. "Don't tell me to go away." If she does, he'll leave but only because he loves her.
She wanted to deny him the satisfaction of her reacting but she still leaned into him. “Try again?” Dru lifted her head to look at him. Immediately she regrets it, knowing his words speak true. “I’m not supposed to have a knight. The stars took him from me. Has he truly returned against the star’s wishes?” Her voice betrayed the note of hope she held in the question.
Spike sighs, humming at Drusilla softly. He's not one to make things worse on purpose, but here he goes wrapping her arms around his sire gently. "Duckie, I said I was sorry. Don't be sad.."
She hugged her knees tighter, not looking at him. “Repeat and replay. Is this the part where I tell you to go away?” Dru rested her head against her arms. “I don’t want you to go away.”
“Why are you so glum?”
Dru was sitting on the bed, knees pulled up to her chest. “Doesn’t matter now. Past is past as some would write.”
