Caught being awkward on Geno's IG.
I just had a discussion with my fiance about Sid in which I showed him this blog and mentioned that I may have personally influenced the man's body language.
The conversation? He jokingly mentioned what kinds of things I might say if I were ever to meet the man himself and I basically one-upped him on the embarrassment factor. I mean, what's more embarrassing than admitting how you bullied a famous person out of one of their nervous habits?
He’s gotten better at not doing this, but old habits die hard.
He’s aged well.
But still so awkward.
Full-Circle Storytime
I'm sure at least one person saw this post the other night and was confused as hell, so I think I should explain.
This season, I've been watching DJ Bean and Pete Blackburn's podcast What Chaos! daily on YouTube and joining in the live chat most days, along with being quite active in the discord. They also go live during playoff OTs. One night I mentioned that I had run a niche hockey-related sideblog on tumblr, but I wasn't specific about which one.
This weekend one of the other regulars was on a streak of posting awkward Sidney Crosby pics in the discord, at which point I elaborated and said that my blog was specifically about Sid's hands-in-pockets thing. It turns out they were using this very blog as the source of the photos. Small world, eh?
Anyway, the moral of the story is: subscribe to What Chaos, the fanbase is knowledgeable about weird habits, which is rare for a hockey podcast.
