I like Jack's wit, but unfortunately, I don't understand how anyone can pine for him when Barbossa is around. Jack is the perfect pirate, no matter how it sounds. He seeks profit only for himself, and only occasionally for his loved ones. And Barbossa is simply the perfect captain of his ship.
