You and Viktor had been seeing each other for more than a month and you still had yet to hold hands let alone do anything else. It was starting to make you feel self-conscious but you couldn’t even think of how to address it with him. He seemed to be holding you at such a distance. But you held onto a semblance of hope. Tonight he was coming to your house where you were going to cook him dinner. No distractions, no scapegoats, just one-on-one time where neither of you could avoid the subject.

Dinner went surprisingly smooth, Viktor of course gobbled down what you made and lamented about how good a cook you were. You were flattered considering you had definitely burned the chicken just a little. But as soon as dinner was over you two seemed to fall into an uncomfortable silence.

“So..” You attempted to start, but quickly fell back silent as you weren’t really sure where to start.

“How was work?” He asked quickly, trying to fill the void.

You gave a polite smile and told him about your day. He of course paid close attention, asking questions, fully invested in the fact that Karen made a sly comment about how you had worn your hair that day. But when the conversation finished, the silence was back and you found yourself suggesting a movie.

You started side by side on the couch, both laughing along to the raunchy comedy you had agreed to watch. But you quickly found your thighs brushing against each other and it sent a warmth through your body you had never experienced before. And before you knew it, it appeared Viktor had been feeling the same because he was laying down with his head in your lap, his large arms wrapped around your legs.

Your nails scratched against his scalp and he nuzzled into your thighs, both of you now completely uninvested in the movie before you and words no longer important. At some point in the process, Viktor must have pulled you underneath him because his head now rested on your chest, his arms moved from your legs to your torso as he squeezed you tightly.

“I’ve never been happier than I am right now.” He finally spoke, your hand rubbing up and down his back, a smile creeping onto your face.

Ice skating.  I’d also probably do swim team again, I was on the swim team in my town for like six summers.  I also really wouldn’t mind backpacking.
