In all honesty I was quite shocked by all the hate that occurred after his death and not only that but people wanting to boycott the show because of it and because of what you said. Like they didn't kill him for shock value(which many people seem to think) but it made sense that his death would be the start of the uprising?? Plus why would you want to boycott a show that hasn't even gone to shit like?? Also I'm so sorry this is long I didn't mean for that to happen!!
no worries! and yes, exactly. vane’s death is actually incredibly important to the plot. it’s what sets off the resistance. and it’s pretty clear to me that vane’s arc in s3 was leading to his death. it makes perfect sense. they dedicated vane’s storyline this season to humanizing him as much as possible, so they could martyr him.
i just don’t understand people that want to boycott the show because of it, even if i have to say it doesn’t surprise me unfortunately, nor does the mindless hate towards eleanor/the show. it’s just that i didn’t see any of this when gates died, when miranda died and, most importantly, when scott died, because this is a death i would actually understand people being angry over.
i understand loving a particular character a lot, so that when they’re gone, you know the show won’t be the same without them (honestly ask me about miranda barlow), but there’s a lot more about black sails. other characters, plot lines. and i’m sorry but everyone that watched the show exclusively for vane was already missing most of the point of the show anyway?
