Savings Update - 4/11/19
I opened a new savings account today with Chase for my car fund (Target: $5k).
I had planned to start opening my new accounts earlier this week but I ended up putting in some extra OT at my vanilla job instead.
Anyways, finally had some time this morning so I withdrew $60 from my checking at opened a basic savings account at Chase.
I decided to just open a savings and not a checking and savings account to limit monthly fees etc. The APY is pretty low compared to other banks but since this account is for a short term savings goal...it'll do.
Opening the account was easy...took about 30 mins and I downloaded the mobile app too. I selected paperless statements and deposited $60. If I can have a $300 balance by the end of June, I'll be able to avoid the monthly $5 fee so that's my next goal!
I have my direct deposit info so I'll be setting that up today as well.
