Most times having two dogs is great. Bear helps teach Cara and she’s makes him act like a puppy again. But then there’s moments like this.
Bear is laying on his pillow. Bear wants a nap. Bear does not wish to play.
Cara is running around despite the Aussie heat because that’s what she does. Cara is full of beans. Cara wants to play.
Cara tried bumping Bear with her nose. Bear grumbles. Cara rolls on her back. Bear grumbles louder. I tell to “leave it”. Cara yells because she is combative. I’ve been told that it’s the kelpie in her. I try distracting her with toys. But “No, Human, I wish to play with the Bears” is basically the answer. When I don’t make Bear play with her, she throws a tantrum by sitting on poor Bear who yells at her until I ask her “do you wanna kennel up” so that she understands she’s close to a time out. This works most of the time. Rarely does she need an actual time out. She’s still young, so I’m constantly working with her and training her.
