this is a Carabus larva that i spotted floating in a large puddle. thinking it was dead, i fished it out to get a closer look at it, but mere seconds after i got it on its Designated Rescue Leaf™ it turned out to be alive. i moved it to a drier spot, but it showed no gratitude. i should've dunked it back in the soup
