here is the post on Chick shark that is not hidden in reblogs. Uh. go! Lore! Copy paste and add stuff!

LORE (might be a bit less Splatoon-knowledge heavy for cars fans):

He is the sticker shopkeep in in the hub area (grungy-ish area of Splatsville with garages). He has had so many sponsorship deals that he has so many extra stickers that he hasn't even gotten to use! So he makes some bucks off selling the leftovers to inkfish who use them to decorate their lockers and racing inktanks.

The big round yellow sticker on his back fin and top of tail fin would change every day, because he has an on-again-off-again relationship with his main sponsors. He has an off-road skateboard-esque thing that he lie on it and push off the ground with he hand-front-fins as his vehicle in [name for the racing sport that I haven't decided on yet], which I have yet to draw.

He also has a team consisting of five remora guys, who help him on and off the race courses. I also have yet to draw them but their names are Wade, Finn, Taul, Kort and Bruiser.

He won one (1) Mixed Plankton Series championship (this AU's version of the Piston Cup Series) and wears his championship belt proudly. He never takes it off and never stops bragging about it. He will take up any challenge to show off his racing skills!

(I have thoughts about the mechanics of his challenge... I will share them some other time. As well as drawings of his lovely cocky grin.)

Not satisfied with the colors on Guido. I know the work apron needs to be another color but I just don't know which.

LORE (pretty splatoon-knowledge heavy, warning for cars fans):

They run the inksole shop in the hub area (grungy-ish area of Splatsville with garages) and another shop in their hometown, a little place in the canyons of the Splatlands, near a long dried up riverbed. Depending on the day, they can both be in the shop, only have one of them be there physically or one/both can be there by hologram, like other players in the Splatoon 3 lobbies. (Running two locations can be hard when you're not Sheldon).

They used to only have the shop in their hometown, where they made custom shoes, walking limb orthoses and mobility aids (or customized prefabricated ones) for all the different mobility needs of the many different body plans of the species calling the land their home. But when a now several time Mixed [name for the racing sport that I haven't decided on yet] Plankton Series champion showed up one day, they realized their skills could also be used to innovate in that field, bringing the sport to more people (and also saving their business from bankruptcy, but they say that's just a bonus).

Guido focuses on the wheeled parts and mechanics of building and customizing inksoles and racing equipment, while Luigi is more of a shoe and aesthetics focused guy.

They don't often race themselves, just do some laps to keep fit, but if you challenge them they might just say yes to a casual run and roll around the area. ....Well, as casual as the parkour and pvp heavy sport of [name for the racing sport that I haven't decided on yet] can be. But it's all in good fun!

If Chick Hicks was a fish, would he be a hammer head shark? It does have the squareness of the nose, but hmm... mustache is missing.

Here they are. The rest of Team 86 and sticker shopkeepers. They all have mandatory mustache stickers. I should have done more color variation on em, with all the different shades of grey to yellow that Live Sharksuckers apparently come in from my photo research. Oh yeah, and the rest of the pitties except for Bruiser don't have canon names, so they are names I made up for 'em.

I cannot wait to show fish Luigi, but I need to draw Guido before showing you because they cannot be separated. And man, their combined concept is wacky silly as fuck yes,

....oh. like all my seathrillchase hub people are devastated/very impacted by capitalism.

Like. It was an accidental theme born of probably my own and my peers existence in this system, as well as being a thing to keep/do a twist on/go into more detail on from the source material Splatoon. But now that I realized the unconscious theming I put there it's going to become a thing I'm more conscious of and do more deliberate comentary on with the story thing...

Definitely with stock racings history of increasing commercialism too. Yeah.... hm.

I'll expand on this later, after my bigger post about the lore for people.
