I don't think it was just a few moments of Kinger wandering around in that little sequence. I think it was such a long time he even forgot his name within the circus because he literally had no one else to talk to. (This also makes me wonder, why didn't Caine ever say his name? Did Caine not bring Kinger on adventures during this time or just simply didn't say his name?"

The reason Jax doesn't pull pranks on or mess with Kinger is likely because Kinger isn't lucid most of the time and Jax maybe even has some sort of respect for him but also I feel like the pranks wouldn't even bother Kinger lucid or not.

For example, If Jax tossed a pie into Kinger's face. Kinger would probably reply "Oh wow! Cherry flavor!"

If Jax tripped Kinger, Kinger would be like "Oh! How kind of you Jax, now I can spot those creepy crawlies much easier!"

Jax yoinks one of Kinger's eyes, Kinger would remove his other one and attempt to play dodgeball
