Business is not complicated if you use more of imagination and less of logic. #imagination #businesssuccess #careertransition #careertransitioncoaching https://www.instagram.com/p/CAnM4B0F23O/?igshid=1fgzzb9yn7ut9
You can never achieve an end goal without approaching it via the performance goals. An end goal e.g. to become the market leader, to be appointed sales director, to land a certain key account, to win the gold medal – is seldom absolutely within your own control. You cannot know or control what your competitors will do. An end goal should wherever possible be supported by a performance goal. The end goal may provide the INSPIRATION, but the performance goal defines the SPECIFICATION. A performance goal Identifies the performance level that you believe will provide you with a very good chance of achieving the end goal. It is largely within your control and it generally provides a means of measuring progress. Examples of performance goals might be to achieve six sigma quality, for us to land 5 big accounts next month, or to be able to run a marathon by end of August. Importantly, it is far easier to commit yourself to, and take responsibility for a performance goal, which is within your control, than an end goal, which is not. #coachingprinciples #coachingworks #executivecoaching #businesscoaching #careertransitioncoaching #certifiedcoaching #coaches https://www.instagram.com/p/B97ESZEl_qw/?igshid=1m11zz3y3k2uu
Our beliefs about the capability of others have a direct impact on their performance. Unless coaches believe that people possess more capability than they are currently expressing, they will not be able to help them express it. Coaches must think of his people in terms of their potential, not their performance. In the corporate world, the majority of appraisal systems are seriously flawed for this reason. Since managers are not trained to be coaches, team members are put in performance boxes from which it is hard for them to escape, either in their own eyes or their manager’s. #coachingprinciples #coachingworks #executivecoaching #businesscoaching #careertransitioncoaching #certifiedcoaching #coaches https://www.instagram.com/p/B9vxITUlUaq/?igshid=jn6gd5f29pok
"Coaching is not telling people what to do; it's giving them a chance to examine what they are doing in light of their intentions." If I tell a client (coachee), looking for a new career, that he should be opening a restaurant, it will NOT motivate him to pursue that career. Alternatively, if the client comes up with that conclusion at the end of a systematic career-transition-coaching process (involving inquiry, strengths-identification, pain-storming and SWOT analysis), the client will feel charged up and accountable to follow through. We are inspired to take action in the direction of our dreams ONLY when the motivation comes from within. If you are a professional coach, remember that even if you are a subject matter expert in the area of your client’s business or job, you should resist the temptation to advise. Your job is to help the clients discover for themselves the best course of action so that they are accountable to follow through. #coachingprinciples #coachingworks #executivecoaching #businesscoaching #careertransitioncoaching #certifiedcoaching #coaches https://www.instagram.com/p/B9s1u2tlGQx/?igshid=oeofsbqswc0q
In any job or business, your circumstances are often not in your control. You cannot wish away competition. You cannot change your team overnight. You cannot blame the new regulations (e.g. GST) You cannot avoid a demanding but important customer. You cannot avoid a difficult boss or office politics. But know this: if your purpose is big enough, an unexpected natural ability will flow forth which will guide you to new actions and thereby solutions. A coach often helps you discover that BIGGER PURPOSE and develop a BROADER PERSPECTIVE that makes you bigger than your circumstances thereby enabling you to deal with them confidently. #coachingprinciples #coachingworks #executivecoaching #businesscoaching #careertransitioncoaching #certifiedcoaching https://www.instagram.com/p/B9lSq47Fg2t/?igshid=yzmqsgzc8mhj
