We introduced Brooklyn based collective The Space Captain on June with their soulful single Remedy and today we  selected anotha mellow gem titled Easier. Gray Hall,Mike Haldeman, Alex Pyle, Donnie Spackman, ZaCk hArTmAn,Nathaniel Vito, Joy Morales,Linton Smith, Lessie Vonner,Joey Ziegler teamed up with the delectable voice of young San Francisco native singer Maralisa Simmons-Cook to record in 2013 the jazzy relaxing and classy joint Easier.  Great quality!

Previously involved into a project called Icebird with producer RJD2 , Aaron Livingston change his name to Son Little, signing with ANTI-Records . We can assert this dude represents one of the most impressive talent of the moment, playing a kind of music that seduce with a spectacular and thoughtful blend of country soul,blues and modern r&b. We recently recommended his rendition for the track titled The River and now we show ya his unbelievable single Your Love Will Blow Me Away When My Heart Aches.  Check out also the official video

If you are  great fans of neo-soul artists like Floetry,Jaguar Wright,Conya Doss,Amel Larrieux and Goapele maybe you will appreciate Jazzyfatnastees‘s sound! Mercedes Martinez & Tracey Moore made good tracks under the moniker Jazzyfatnastess releasing The Tortoise &  The Hare and The Once and Future from which we chose the track titled How Sad.

Another new entry on scratchtheblock.com! Atlanta drummer and music director Groov Henderson made some pretty good stuff under the moniker GroovProject recruiting talented musicians from Atlanta.In 2006 he dropped Soul Jazzations a project where r&b and fusion jazz enchant the audience.

CARINA ANDERSSON – LIFT MY SPIRIT

Scandinavia brings to light several artists that we showcased here on da block, for example: Oaklyn,Marie Dahlstrøm,Philip Owusu,Quadron,Fatima,Kissey Asplund,Natalie Gardiner and Bernhoft. Today we selected a sumptuous gem performed by Swedish songstress Carina Andersson from her alternative EP Lift My Spirit released on August and mixed and mastered by renowned producer Marc Mac of 4 Hero. Taste the sound of Lift My Spirit , a jazzy elegant song for the lovers out there!

AHMED SIROUR FEAT. JAE FRANKLIN – BEAUTIFUL SOUL

Last but not least the last effort by Brooklyn musician/producer Ahmed Sirour titled CollaborationsVol.1. The project has been released today and represents a collection of Mr.Sirour collaborations like Beautiful Soul with the hot and velvety voice of Missouri City native singer/songwriter Jae Franklin. "Morning Child (featuring Carina Andersson)" - 4hero

This is the perfect sunny morning song to listen to while beginning your day. If I didn't know better, I'd think some of Cinderella's woodland friends would show up to make my breakfast and help me get dressed.

The track, from their 2007 release Play with the Changes, leads the way into an album that makes you feel good by taking your body from a sway across the floor to a nice little bump and drop with every few tracks. Soulful, jazzy and a little funky at times, it's accessible to any person with an ounce of rhythm or the will to try and find it! Worthy of a glance if you're in the dark.
