You coughed and your throat felt like it was on fire. You lay on your couch wrapped in a hoodie and multiple blankets. Tissues and cough medicine were spread all over the table in front of you. You heard the sound of someone knocking on your door. “Who is it,” you croaked. “It’s me,” came a sweet voice from the other side. It took you a minute to gather your energy to stand. You were too exhausted to register whom the voice belonged to. You opened the door to find your boyfriend standing on the other side, looking concerned and holding a large basket of what looked like medicine and snacks. “Hi, babe,” he said softly, looking over your disheveled appearance. “I heard you were sick so I left practice early to come see you.” You let out a loud cough before you could say anything back. Mark grabbed your arm and gently guided you back to the couch. He sat first before situating you on his lap. You started to protest. “I can’t get you sick as well, you need your voice. You have performances and recordings coming up, soon.” He smiled and waved his hand. “It’s worth getting sick if it means I can help you feel better.” You sighed loudly but let him pull you tighter against him. You eyed the basket he brought. “There’s no way I could eat all that food.” He giggled sheepishly. “ I wasn’t sure what you liked to eat when you were sick… so I kind of grabbed a bunch of everything.” You grinned against his stomach. “You’re such a dork.” You felt him giggle again before he kissed the top of your head. “I’m always a dork as long as it means my woman is happy.”
