Today felt like a doodling sort of day! Pike is from @ask-the-harlem-newsies! (Guppy is their post-WWI service dog! A good boy if ever there was one!) Strings is from @askmidtownnewsies! (I tried an art tutorial for drawing kisses by drawing a heart first and uh... *shrugs* I think it went ok for my first attempt.)

Strings is the one who starts all musical encounters. Care will join in.

Caroline loooooves it! Tbh, he probably loves it, too.
How do they emotionally support each other?
Well, they’re terrible at communicating their emotions to each other if it’s about each other. If it’s something unrelated to them or their relationship, they usually just talk until they start to feel better. Though I’d imagine there are a lot of small gestures that mean a lot, too. Hand holding, cuddling, forehead kisses, stuff like that.
Where do they go to get away from everyone?
Well, the butterfly atrium at the botanical gardens is a really special place she shared with her mom, but she has shared it with him once before. I think once they officially become canon, that they’ll find their special place.
What would happen if they had to babysit a child for the day?
They basically just played with the kids and were like the cutest little family ever! I’d imagine it would go like that most every other time, too.
What is one experience that they had together that they will never forget?
I think the day they spent at the butterfly garden with the kids was this really amazing day for them and that they won’t soon forget it.
Who puts their cold hands on the other person to get warm?
Caroline’s hands are almost always freezing. You best believe she’s going to use him as her own personal hand warmer!

On my last trip north, I took a different route, and that is always an adventure. With never enough time to take side-trips and explore, I can never resist when something just drops in my path, so when, after three hours driving, a village that announced itself as a Saxon settlement offered me a church and a parking spot, the inevitable happened. Strings was shocked when he ran outside to see what all the commotion outside the lodging house was to find his girlfriend laying unconscious on the ground. He cried out her name as he ran faster than he ever did in his life to her. He held her in his arms until the ambulance came. Nobody knew what happened because one of Caroline’s typical thoughtless and reckless actions had landed her in a coma, so she couldn’t tell them. Strings only left her bedside when he was forced to or when her family was taking turns visiting, but even then he’d stay close by in the hall. He’d talk to her, and sing to her, and play her favorite songs on guitar. Anything to let her hear him. He’d tell her how much he loves her and even though he’s not very religious anymore, he’d pray that she would wake up and get better. She’s his whole world and he doesn’t want to lose her.
