My postcard for Beholder Zine
Exactly one year ago, on 2025/06/21, I spontaneously wrote and published my first Beholder fic. I consider it the day I joined this fandom (despite the fact I’d known the first game long before that, since 2018/19. I simply had a very long hiatus from playing it in the meantime).
I don’t feel like being a cornball and writing an overlong emotional post, but let’s admit it: becoming a part of this community meant leaving my comfort zone and finding some comfort again. I’ve written running meters worth of fanfiction and random yaps, met a few online friends, witnessed some drama, improved my drawing skills and finally developed my own art style in the process. It’s been a nice experience, overall. Solid 7/10.
Have a Carl Stein doodle because Carl was the plot axis of the aforementioned fic, and he seems like the most fitting character to draw for this occasion. x))
I’m really, really tempted to ask y’all, even though I’m a bit afraid of possible answers: what is your opinion, what am I known for in this fandom? What do you associate me and my art with?
A curious fact about Anthroutopia for all of you: the same warm affection for cats that Carl has in the original also exists in this version.
Other animals think it's quite amusing for a rat, but facts and observations by Isaac and his minions suggest that the mere sight of them can calm his clones, making them feel safer and more pliable, which is quiet convenient for his experiments.
Carl Stein in this version was adopted and raised by a childless cat family before the directive banned such adoptions. People of cat kind are still someone who he feels emotional connection to, but when it comes to lawbreakers, all this warmth instantly vanishes - a fleeting glimpse of Hector, that nervous old cat gentleman, is something he doesn’t remember with positive attitude.
you think you're so slick

I've been putting off drawing for a while now. There's one half-finished one waiting, but I don't know if I'll have time to finish it :/
I love the whole idea that Alloisius is basically the Steins' bestie. I mean, he's so tight with them he ended up being Marta's actual godfather and pretty much a godfather figure to Patrick too. And probably when the Steins packed up and moved to South Boreia, Alloisius followed them! Not right away, maybe a bit later, but still. Or, yk, he’d be crashing at their place all the time — for vacations, random weekends, work trips, u get it
And just for your reminder, I have a telegram: kraBsbyrgers 👉👈
