I found this honestly hilarious and felt the need to share it because this is a real ask I got simply because I put that I ship carulia on my intro page. This account isn’t even about carmen Sandiego or any fandom other than cc/ct lol. I have nothing against carmchase, I just think chase is the gayest man I’ve ever seen. only for some reason, no one has ever said that carmchase is cool. this ship is only criticized and reacted to negatively, or julia's fans draw humiliating pictures. For the fandom, Julia and any ships with her are the ideal, while carmchase is just a subject for ridicule.

Sorry for the very late response so let me break down my opinion on carmchase. From a newcomer into this fandom by the way if I may add, I am also well aware of the old drama in this specific fandom since I was informed. Mind you, I don’t even know anyone on this fandom currently and I’m still giving a speech on this stuff.

just because no one ever said that carmchase is cool, doesn’t mean it doesn’t get recognition. sure, it’s not in the spotlight for me, but I really do see their dynamic! a lot of people aren’t really cool with the rarepair which is devastating and sad, because I genuinely think it’s a good match!

I may be a Julia fan but that doesn’t make me like the others. Sure her ships are well known and are recognized, but that doesn’t mean that your ship— carmchase— is worth making a ship war over. I don’t mean this is a bad way, but I stand in the middle of my decision.

I’d love to look into carmchase if you’d like, but honestly I can already see it. In season 4, nearing the end, we can see them starting to trust eachother. In season 3, Carmen entrusted Devineaux in keeping the real masks safe. There is enough interactions between these two to make sense of their dynamic just as equal as other ships. Other rare pairs also have the trouble of being disliked and unseen too. Carmchase also being one of them.
