I'm starting to suspect tumblr ate *my* ask! If so then, how would your characters react to going through an existential crisis? ~ This for STS!
Oh, you mean the one that Celestine goes through multiple times in the series?
Ah, yes. She has a lot of fun.
Also you’re mean. Meanie. You do know what the actual definition of existential crises are, right? ‘Cause I get these a lot and it is. Not Fun. ^^’
Colin actually also has his fair share of these. Unfortunately they’re quite prevalent with him due to his belief that he can’t contribute as much as other people, due to both his inattentiveness, his obliviousness, and his clumsiness. He doesn’t acknowledge how much of a positive influence he is, or how he’s likely the only thing keeping several people from entirely falling apart.
He goes very quiet, and starts to avoid people. And that is bad, because Colin needs to be around people, or bad things start to happen.
Celestine just pretends the world doesn’t exist for a while. She’ll wrap herself in a blanket and hide herself in her hammock to the point where she misses her seawater, and then bad things also happen. (Her seawater routine is actually very like a medication, if you’re wondering. One that has almost immediate consequences if she misses it.)
Oh, wait! Phoenix also has one when she finds out that magic exists and now she’s in the midst of a big magic fiasco! It’s very fun. Luckily she’s pretty okay with it, her way of coping is basically saying, ”Screw that, I’ll actually do somethin’ productive ‘stead of sittin’ round moping ‘bout it.”
Dione’s mind is too busy with her work, she doesn’t get these. (And if she does, you wouldn’t be able to tell because it just means more work.)
Thanks for the ask! Or not. Poor Colin.
